Last night saw Saltash United playing at home against Plymouth Argyle Reserves in the South West Peninsula League.
It has been reported that Kimberley Stadium was crowded with 308 avid football supporters in attendance.
It was a fantastic start by Saltash United. Just 33 seconds into the game Dave Barker’s deflected shot made it 1-0.
Ten minutes later a penalty was taken by Ryan Richards, then making it 2-0 to Saltash.

Then 26 minutes into the game Argyle came back with a goal but Saltash fought back and 11 minutes later Sam Hughes hit one home!
At half time this was the score – Kevin Marriot reports on Twitter:
1st half summary: frantic football, like a Cup tie. Saltash have scored from every chance, Argyle look like scoring every attack. HT 3-1.

Midway through second half and still 3-1 to Saltash but Argyle were pressing hard for a goal.
Then a penalty given to Argyle at the 77 minute made the score 3-2 to Saltash – things are getting tight!
Argyle pressed towards the end with a couple of corners but even with 6 minutes of injury time Argyle Reserves could not come back!
Saltash played a great game by all reports!
This result keeps the pressure up on Tavistock Town and moves them within five points, with a game in hand.
