MET Office Issues STRONG Wind Warning This Afternoon 2 pm – 6 pm.

An area of very strong winds will run over Cornwall and Devon this afternoon.


Whilst it is a generally windy day across the southwest of England a small area of even stronger winds will run across Devon and Cornwall this afternoon.

This will bring a short increase in winds that may cause some localised disruption.

The Torpoint Ferry has some slight disruption to timetable due to strong winds and poor weather.


There are no restrictions on the Tamar Bridge yet! We will update you the bridge become a problem.

Gusts of 70 mph are possible along the north coasts with locally 60 mph inland before winds ease a little from the west, though it will remain gusty.

Some localised disruption to travel is possible with tricky conditions for high sided vehicles in particular as well as some spray and wave overtopping along exposed coastal areas.
