Rugby – Saltash v Winscombe RFC – Match Report

Saltash RFC played at home today at Saltash Rugby Club and have gone through to the Senior Vase divisional final!

The first half was a tight affair.

After ten minutes Will Morton scored a try for Saltash bringing the score to Saltash 5pts, Winscombe 3pts at half time.

The second half started well for Saltash.

Saltash’s Cruikshanks gets a try from kick off making it 10pts to Saltash, still 3pts to Winscombe.

Just 15 minutes later James Moriarty sneaks down the blind side and converts for 17-3. Almost after restart his is over again making it 22pts – 3pts. Saltash is way ahead!
Then a try from Morton makes it 29pts – 3pts. Winscombe is way behind now.

Things go quiet for a while then a penalty goal from the fly-half Kieran Down makes it a great game for Saltash at 32pts to 3pts.

Then in the 73rd minute, Winscombe make a come back with a try for the visitors, now it’s Saltash 32pts, Winscombe 13.

And just two minutes later Winscombe try again! Are Saltash worn out?

NO there not … The Ashes are through with a score of 32pts to 20pts.

RFC are to host Senior Vase divisional final on Sat March 18 against Swindon Col Old Boys or Tadley Tigers RFC following the win over Winscombe.
