Saltash Fire Fighters Help FREE Trapped Man From Van After Tree Fell

Firefighters from Torpoint and Saltash were joined by specialist rescue crews at the scene shortly before 7am.

A van driver had to be cut free from the wreckage of his vehicle after a tree fell onto it on the main A374 this morning.

Police said the driver appeared to have suffered minor leg injuries in the accident near Torpoint, on the A374, between Antony and Sheviock.

The crews used winches and crash rescue equipment to free the man.

The A374 was closed for some time this morning.

The driver was taken to Derriford Hospital by ambulance.

A picture of the scene was posted on social media by Torpoint Fire Station after the rescue.
