Saltash.net students and teachers were delighted to invite representatives of the National Citizen Services programme from Cornwall College to the school recently to present an assembly to our year 11 students.
NCS is a great addition to any out of school activities that your school or college may already organise. They are able to offer the following range of activities tailored to suit your needs.
The National Citizen Service programme is a unique, government subsidised opportunity that is for our students in Years 11 and 13.
All summer students have an opportunity to take part in a 4 week scheme based at Cornwall College.
NCS offer guided assemblies led by NCS provider staff for year 11 and year 12 students, as well as NCS-led tutorials and information stands at careers and freshers’ fairs and also offer an NCS presence at parents’ evenings with special Q&A sessions.
Taking part in life skill building activities and being presented with the opportunity to build their employability skills.
Tasks include both personal challenges and work based activities.
We were thrilled to see so many interested students recognising that this was a unique opportunity that they could not miss out on.
We were also delighted to receive an award recognising our school as a NCS Champion school for 2015/2016 due to the volume of students that took part in the programme.
