We are very happy to hear that the landlord and Landlady, Lewis Challen and Gloria Graham at the Saltash Railway Hotel are now hosting the ‘Trelawny Shout’ this Sunday at 9pm.
Initially, The Ploughboy Inn Saltash was going to host this annual event of Cornish singing but due to time constraints and a lack of support last year could not hold the event this year.
After a plea from locals who want to see this Cornish tradition upheld here in Saltash a local pub, The Railway Hotel have decided they will step inn ( pardon the pun).
This is very exciting for many people who want to show their allegiance to Cornwall traditions and in particular to Trelawny, the most famous Cornishman of all!
Trelawny who led an army against the English has gone down in history for his courage and leadership skills.
The Railway Hotel Fore St Saltash are planning the evening for 9 pm Sunday for The ‘Trelawny Shout’.
Let us know if any resident of Saltash would like to take part.
Please do come and support St. Pirans Day as The Cornwall Community Foundation (CCF) is once again encouraging people to join in the Trelawny Shout at pubs across the Duchy on St Piran’s Day, March 5th 2017.
Come along – We will be there!
